Boho Backyard Micro Wedding Inspirations, published in Brides & Wedding magazine
Couples dream of having a beautiful, elegant wedding but may not have the budget for it. Skip the pricey venue, incorporate my DIY boho wedding inspiration projects to have an elegant boho backyard wedding right in your own backyard.
This past Spring, my son announced to me that he was getting engaged. Being young, I knew he had no idea how much a beautiful wedding would cost, and I immediately started running numbers in my head and pondered how I could help him get creative to have an elegant wedding on his budget.
I happened to take the call while enjoying the view of the yard from my back porch. Immediately I was inspired, and thinking of ways a young couple like this could have the wedding of their dreams with a smaller budget on their own or with the help of a wedding planner. A glance and the green landscape and the fountain and I thought of great boho backyard wedding ideas for a styled shoot.
A charming backyard, set among towering trees created a tranquil, stunning backdrop for this wedding with a distinct Bohemian theme. At every turn, there was authentically crafted DIY-ed detail created to inspire couples on a micro budget. The signage made of PVC pipe, painted to appear as copper made a delightful welcoming entrance. The Wedding backdrop included a base of earth tones and pops of sienna throughout to showcase an elegant bohemian mood.
The ceremony alter in this intimate backyard wedding, was designed with a rustic circular wedding arch adorned by an impressive floral arrangement that featured a chic structural design, vibrant silk florals and lots of pampas grass. Infusing the vibrant colors of nature and romantic bohemian inspiration, the wedding reception featured elegant floral centerpieces with a blend of neutral tone silk flowers splashed with pops of burnt orange and crimson crowned the reception tables. A mix of intermingled, synthetic rugs created a lovely colorful dance floor beneath a blanket of string lights running from one side of the yard to the other. The catering table constructed of empty wine barrels and a wooden slab was chosen to display the food platters for an alternative family style dining experience. The sweetheart table for the bride and groom was embellished with copper sprayed glass candlestick holders, pampas grass and eucalyptus vines and the ground beneath it lined with DIY lanterns.
It was amazing to see how the vendors worked so seamlessly together to create this boho wedding inspiration. It felt like a team that had been working together for years. What I loved the most was how well the models interacted with each other and made the day so realistic. The event felt like a real wedding.
